Town Line Campsites is a tremendous local campground, and people from Augusta-Waterville love to come here. There is a fine hiking trail close to Dodge Pond called the Hockomock Nature Trail, and Sheepscot River - West Branch has a tremendous whitewater paddling spot nearby. Crummett Brook is a wonderful local stream, and in case you don’t mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Sheepscot River. At Dodge Pond during the summer

| | highs are in the 70's. Summer night lows sink down to the 60's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally in the 20's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Dodge Pond drop into the 10's. There's always Colby Mills Dam to check out close to Dodge Pond, and if you've had enough of Dodge Pond, French Pond is nearby. This lake is so wonderful. by lakes? Sure, Long Pond is just a very short distance away. The annual rainfall here at Dodge Pond is about average; November is when you get the most rain here, and February on the other hand is the driest.

Eaton Mountain
 | 26 miles away 3 PHOTOS Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends. The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park. The ski area is located on Lambert Road, just off Route 2 between Skowhegan and Canaan.... |
