    If you are in Franklin county it's always a good idea to stop by Dill Pond. Summertime at Dill Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 20's, and night lows at Dill Pond through the winter typically drop into the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Dead River - South Branch, and  
   playing golf is lots of fun at Evergreen Golf Club & Golf School.
What would winter be without some skiing at Saddleback, and Quill Pond is a nearby lake that you could pop by. All the outdoors enjoyable stuff close to Dill Pond will keep you coming back over and over. Flagg Dam is worth going to while you're here; get your heart pumping on the splendid whitewater of Dead River - South Branch. There's so much to do here at Dill Pond that you need to camp
 
               here for a while, Black Brook Cove Campground is a tremendous spot for that; nearby you find the Bemis Trail which is a delightful hiking trail.
Do stop at Saddleback Lake right next door to Dill Pond, it's a beautiful lake, and hey, Quill Pond Brook is a tremendous local stream. This lake is so wonderful. Dill Pond is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Black Arrow Lodge is a delightful local campground, and going for a hike on the Bigelow Range Trail is always a great adventure. The Piazza Rock Trail is a tremendous hiking trail next to Dill Pond; stunning scenery and glorious skiing is what you get at Black Mountain.
A normal amount of rainfall falls here at Dill Pond; through August this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is February.

I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises....
