     Take a hike on the Arnold Trail, and camping at Cupsuptic Campground is always a brilliant experience. You'll stumble on a stunning lake called Abbie Pond near Deer Pond; hiking along the Arnold Pond Trail is tremendous fun. High temperatures at Deer Pond during the long summer days are in the 70's. Summer night lows fall down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Deer Pond. A large amount of rainfall  
   falls at Deer Pond; August is when you get the most rain here; February is the month with the least moisture.
Have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Morrell Trail; do go to Lower Black Pond, it's a beautiful lake. That right there is plenty already, but it carries on; Deer Pond has it all. A fine location to camp here at Deer Pond is Deer Mountain Campground. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Sunday River Ski and Golf Resort is a pleasant place to spend a night or two; get yourself into a kayak and hit Magalloway River.

Drove up on the 14th of October, 1 day before season closed. First time in 35 years of going was the pond complete smooth, not a ripple. Between my friend and I, we must have caught 30-40 fish both on dry & wet flies, only keeping 4 for breakfast the next morning.
