A day on the slopes of Titcomb is just what you need, and if you've had enough of David Pond, Cranberry Pond is close by. Dry warm beds await you at Winthrop Motel, and you can run the rapids of Sandy River. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is great here at David Pond, you can go for a hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. David Pond regularly gets much rainfall; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain while February

| | is ordinarily the driest month. High temperatures at David Pond during the summer months are in the 70's while nighttime lows are usually in the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 20's with temperatures at David Pond dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. Comfort Inn & Suites is a nice choice. David Pond is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, East Livermore Campgrounds is a delightful local campground, and David Pond is not the only place close by, Basin Pond is a close
by lake. If you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Maple Lane Inn & Golf Club is in close proximity. There's so much to do here at David Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Five Seasons Campground is a magnificent
site for that. This lake is so wonderful. Knowles Hill is easy to spot from David Pond; a tremendous place for whitewater paddling is Wilson Stream.

Eaton Mountain
 | 27 miles away 3 PHOTOS Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends. The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park. The ski area is located on Lambert Road, just off Route 2 between Skowhegan and Canaan.... |
