Birch Point Lodge Campgrounds is a tremendous campground nearby, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Kennedy Tote Road. At Cut Pond during the summertime months highs are in the 70's. Through the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 20's, and night lows at Cut Pond through the winter generally       fall into the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. You could also explore Smith Brook Pond since you're here at Cut Pond; it's nearby, and paddling on Mattawamkeag River - East Branch is so much fun. On a brilliant day at Cut Pond you can take a hike along the Pierce Tote Road, and whitewater paddling is nice on Mattawamkeag River - West Branch. Cut Pond Brook flows through this area, and there is a great hiking trail nearby called the Sweets Trail. A typical                  amount of rain falls here at Cut Pond; throughout July this area sees the most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. A lake nearby is Beaver Pond, and if you need a spot to stay Shiretown Motor Inn is a tremendous choice.
