This is a good region for people who like lakes. Davis Pond is a lake in close proximity. There's so much to do here at Crowell Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Five Seasons Campground is a great place for that. and hey, McGurdy Stream is a pleasant local stream. This lake is so wonderful. Summertime highs at Crowell Pond generally tend to be in the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime
come with highs in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Crowell Pond. Crowell Pond is a wet place that gets lots of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is November, and February meanwhile is the driest month.

Eaton Mountain
 | 24 miles away 3 PHOTOS Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends. The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park.
