There are other places here than Crooked Pond, for example Folsom Pond, and drift down the rapids of Penobscot River in a kayak. During the days of summer here at Crooked Pond, high temperatures generally reach the 70's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. Highs throughout the winter are frequently in the 20's       while Crooked Pond night low temperatures during the winter are in the 0's. Upper Pond Dam is worth going to while you're here, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Mattawamkeag. From a rainfall point of view Crooked Pond is a reasonably normal place; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. You think that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Stay the night at Lakeside Camping;                  lots of folks from Bangor come here. This lake is so wonderful.
