Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend St. Croix Stream, and if you get bored of Cranberry Pond you could also have a look at nearby Umcolcus Lake. If you need a location to stay Katahdin Inn is a great choice, and Black Cat Pond is a nearby lake that you could have a look at. This lake is so wonderful. There is a tremendous hiking trail right       next door to Cranberry Pond called the Snowshoe Lake Road, and there's whitewater on Squa Pan Stream for all you adrenaline junkies. There's just no way someone can get bored here at Cranberry Pond. Cranberry Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Mystic Acres Campground is a great local campground, and going for a hike on the Webster Brook Tote Road is always a wonderful adventure. For the period of the days of summer here at Cranberry Pond, high                  temperatures generally get into the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Cranberry Pond. A wonderful place to camp here at Cranberry Pond is Homestead Lodge, and nearby you find the Old Dam Tote Road which is a good hiking trail.
