     Cranberry Peak is trouble-free to spot from Cranberry Pond, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Spencer Stream. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Fire Warden Trail; there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at close by Saddleback. The amount of rainfall that falls at Cranberry Pond is close to the national average; most of the snow falls during November while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. A pretty  
   lake like Jones Pond close to Cranberry Pond is a pleasant site to explore; hiking is a popular thing to do around Cranberry Pond; Piazza Rock Trail is a pleasant local trail.
Summertime highs at Cranberry Pond regularly tend to be in the 70's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's while Cranberry Pond nighttime low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 0's. Really perfect skiing awaits you
 
               at Sugarloaf USA; do stop by The Horns Pond, it's a stunning lake.
That right there is a load already, but it keeps on going; Cranberry Pond has it all. Stoney Brook flows through this vicinity; you can stay the night at Black Arrow Lodge. This lake is so wonderful. Get wet paddling on Dead River - South Branch, and Crocker Mountain Cirque Campground is a perfect campground nearby. Go for a hike on the Bigelow Range Trail, and after a long day outdoors Herbert Grand Hotel is a good place to spend a night or two.

A new Inntopia Central Reservation and Packaging System will allow Saddleback to book lodging, Ski & Stay and other packages at the lodges in the town of Rangeley as well as the condominiums at the mountain.
NEW RENTAL AND RETAIL SHOPS
Saddleback will now operate the rental and retail shops in the base lodge that were previously operated by a lessee. This season the rental shop will have a new fleet of rental skis, boards, boots, bindings and poles. The retail shop will have a new inventory of clothing and accessories.

I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises....
