    The beauty of Lake Cowles is reason enough to stop by. If you want to check out some out of the ordinary stuff, check out Table Land; Lake Cowles is a great spot to visit for more than one day, South Branch Pond Campground is a great spot to camp nearby. This lake is so wonderful. On a wonderful day you obtain a view of Hamlin Peak from Lake Cowles; hiking is a popular thing to do around Lake Cowles; Saddle Trail is a good local trail. Everybody loves Northwest  
   Basin, and if you need a spot to stay Katahdin Inn is a good choice.
If you have a thing about the outdoors, you'll adore Lake Cowles. If you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Nesowadnehunk Stream, and Chimney Pond Campground is a brilliant campground nearby. Nesowadnehunk Stream River is a magnificent whitewater spot in the vicinity of Lake Cowles, and if you're here, you might as well explore Witherle Ravine. Good hiking is
 
               available along the Howe; a visit to Caribou Spring will fill your soul with good feelings.
The amount of rain that falls at Lake Cowles is close to the national average; most of the rain falls during July, and February on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Northwest Basin Trail, and some of the water close by flows, like Annis Brook.
All through the summertime at Lake Cowles highs are usually in the 70's. Through the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 50's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Lake Cowles.
