    Do stop by Lake Cowles while you're in this part of Maine. Lake Cowles is not the only site close by, Davis Pond is a close by lake, and Lake Cowles is right by the Saddle Trail. Whitewater paddling is splendid on Nesowadnehunk Stream River, and Northwest Basin is right here at Lake Cowles. The Howe offers hiking at its best, and the summit of Hamlin Peak can be seen from Lake Cowles.
You could also visit Klondike Pond since you're here at Lake Cowles; it's
 
   close by, and there's pleasant hiking along the Northwest Basin Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Lake Cowles is a glorious site to visit for more than one day, South Branch Pond Campground is a glorious site to camp nearby; the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Caribou Spring. Chimney Pond Campground is a great campground nearby; paddling on Nesowadnehunk Stream is so much fun.

               is a brilliant choice; a good location to visit nearby is Witherle Ravine. Lake Cowles gets a normal amount of yearly rainfall; during July this area sees the most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. And that's not all you can do here at Lake Cowles.
At Lake Cowles throughout the summertime highs are in the 70's, and the night is a little chillier of course, typically in the 50's. During the winter highs are commonly in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Lake Cowles temperatures fall to the-10's. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors enjoyable things the area next to Lake Cowles has to offer. Annis Brook is a stream that you may run into during your stay, and Table Land is a good spot to pop by while in the region.
