If you are traveling by, why not stop by Cow Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Casey's Spencer Bay Campground is a great local campground; after a long day outdoors Lodge at Moosehead Lake is a glorious location to spend a night or two. At Ragged Lake Dam next to Cow Pond there are some interesting things to see, and a great place for whitewater paddling is Roach River. | | rain around here, and the driest month of the year is February. Dry warm beds await you at Katahdin Inn, and don't leave Cow Pond without first going for a hike along the Gulf Hagas Trail. What would winter be without some skiing at Big Squaw, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Pleasant River - West Branch. go for a hike on the Number Four Mountain Trail. High temperatures at Cow Pond during the summertime months are in the 70's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's
with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Cow Pond. Cow Pond truly is in the middle of a delightful outdoors paradise. Ragged Lake is a nearby lake that you could go to, and if you came for an overnight stay Frost Pond Campground
is a delightful location to camp. This lake is so wonderful. Bear Brook flows through this vicinity, and going for a hike on the Big Spencer Mountain Trail is always a tremendous adventure.
