is a good hiking trail nearby called the Mount Battie Trail. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Cotton Pond, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's
while the cold winter nights at Cotton Pond are in the 10's. If you came for an overnight stay Mic Mac Cove Camp Ground is a wonderful spot to camp, and Camden has good slopes and a friendly staff. This lake is so wonderful. At Cotton
Pond you always meet someone from Rockland, and a delightful nearby hotel is The Country Inn Camden-Rckprt. If you come at the right time of year, Oyster River offers some wonderful whitewater; if you're here you can take a hike along the Ragged Mountain Trail.
