All the water falling down from the sky makes Cold Pond a wet place; through November this area sees the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Titcomb is a nice local ski area, and if the weather is beautiful, you obtain a magnificent sight of Sterry Hill from Cold Pond. The skiing at Eaton       Mountain is good; Cold Pond is a perfect spot to visit for more than one day, Smitty's Byob and Campground is a perfect spot to camp nearby. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn & Suites is a nice location to spend a night or two. And that's not all you can do here at Cold Pond. Nevens Pond is a nearby lake that you could have a look at, and swamps like Mayhew Bog close to Cold Pond make for good spots to pop by. If the weather is good                  here at Cold Pond, you can go for a hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail; there are some delightful whitewater spots on Carrabasset. The warmest time of the year at Cold Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 70's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 20's, and overnight lows throughout the winter for Cold Pond tend to be in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful.
