     In the event that you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Spencer Stream, and going for a hike along the Bigelow Range Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. Looking for some flowing water? Try Cold Brook, and you can stay the night at Deer Farms Camps and Campground. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Sugarloaf USA, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Arnolds  
   Trail. Carrabasset is a fine whitewater spot in the vicinity of Cold Brook; if you need a location to stay Herbert Grand Hotel is a pleasant choice.
The snow is great at Saddleback. What a location this is for outdoors people. Why not explore Gold Brook Dam while you're here. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Cold Brook has to offer, you can camp at Crocker Mountain Cirque Campground. The amount of rain that falls at Cold Brook is close
 
               to the national average; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most snow; February is the month with the least moisture.
This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Cold Brook, you'll hit upon Hammond Pond which is a striking lake; on a delightful day you acquire a delightful vista of Little Bigelow Mountain from Cold Brook. High temperatures at Cold Brook during the warm months are in the 70's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's typically in the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Cold Brook. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to nearby Redington Pond, and you can have a tremendous hiking adventure along the Fire Warden Trail.

LARGEST ADVANCED SKIING COMPLEX IN THE EAST
The new chair provides easy access to what was already the largest self-contained advanced skiing complex in the East. The black diamond terrain is in a bowl that is separate from the rest of the ski area. Three advanced trails were added in the bowl this summer. The new lift services 12 Top-to-Bottom advanced skiing runs.
NOVICES & INTERMEDIATES CAN SKI FROM THE SUMMIT -- FOR THE FIRST TIME
The new quad chairlift also allows novice and intermediate skiers to ski from the summit for the first time. Novices can now enjoy the panoramic views and ski along the 4000 ft. ridge amongst rime-frosted conifers before descending to the base via the 3.1 mile America and Hudson Highway trails. Intermediates can ski Tri-Color and Green Weaver, a one mile loop, back to the Kennebago Chair.
