For the period of the warm months here at Cochrane Lake, high temperatures generally reach the 70's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Cochrane Lake temperatures drop to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful.       Camping is available at My Brothers Place, and lovely scenery and delightful skiing is what you get at Bigrock. If the weather is tremendous here at Cochrane Lake, you can go for a hike along the Pierce Tote Road, and a great place for whitewater paddling is Mattawamkeag River - West Branch. All the outdoors amusing things near Cochrane Lake will keep you coming back time and again. Dry warm beds await you at Scottish Inns Houlton, and needless to say Baxter                  Brook flows through this area. If you need a place to stay Shiretown Motor Inn is a good choice, and there is a delightful hiking trail nearby called the Potters Trail. Cochrane Lake gets a normal amount of rainfall; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is February. Carson Pond is a great lake in the vicinity of Cochrane Lake, and the Kennedy Tote Road is a brilliant hiking trail nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes?
