If you get bored of Cochrane Lake, you could also pop by close by County Road Lake; there is a magnificent hiking trail nearby called the Kennedy Tote Road. What a site this is for outdoors people. Camping at My Brothers Place is always a splendid experience, and nearby you locate the Potters Trail which is a fine hiking trail. Summertime highs at Cochrane Lake generally tend to be in the 70's, and during       summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 20's, and night lows in the 0's for Cochrane Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Cochrane Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Wilde Pines Campground is a good local campground, and Mattawamkeag River - East Branch is a tremendous whitewater spot close by. Cochrane Lake is not the only spot nearby, Carson Pond is a nearby lake, and dry warm beds                  await you at Scottish Inns Houlton. Cochrane Lake gets a normal amount of yearly rainfall; July is the wettest month with most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. You can never get enough of the glorious skiing at Bigrock. On a nice day at Cochrane Lake you can take a hike along the Pierce Tote Road, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Mattawamkeag River - West Branch.
