My last trip there (92) I had a truck and it was needed to traverse one road that comes to mind. The fishing was excellent ( pickerel averaged 20 in.) . The high level of rainfall makes Clifford Lake a quite wet spot; November is when you get the most rain here, and June is when it's the driest. If you came for an overnight stay Big Lake Campground is a splendid spot to camp. Lakes? Sure, Carloe Pond is nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to close by East Arm Clifford Lake, and you can run the rapids       of Grand Lake Stream. For the period of the summer at Clifford Lake highs are commonly in the 70's with overnight lows in the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 20's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Clifford Lake temperatures plunge to the 0's. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this site. The views at Roosevelt Campobello International Park will blow your mind. Old Stream is a fine whitewater spot right next door to Clifford Lake, and                  why not a little side tour to Carloe Brook.
