Do stop by Clearwater Pond while you're in this part of Maine. If you came for an overnight stay Twin Pond Campground is a great spot to camp, and you can go for a hike on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Clearwater Pond. Temple Stream is a nice whitewater spot close to Clearwater Pond, and Titcomb has delightful slopes and a friendly staff. For the duration of the summer highs here at Clearwater Pond reach the 70's, and the night is somewhat cooler of course, ordinarily in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 20's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Clearwater Pond fall into the 0's. a very popular ski area close at hand. Clearwater Pond generally gets a good deal of rainfall; November is the wettest month with most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Why not
camp at Nor-40 Campground if you're here at Clearwater Pond, and a great location for whitewater paddling is Sandy River. Lakes? Sure, Mosher Pond is close by, and you obtain a glorious sight of Mosher Hill from here.

Eaton Mountain
 | 25 miles away 3 PHOTOS Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends. The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park. The ski area is located on Lambert Road, just off Route 2 between Skowhegan and Canaan.... |
