Clayton Lake is a nice lake to visit. A normal amount of rain falls here at Clayton Lake; the month with most of the rain is August while February is ordinarily the driest month. Going for a hike along the Fox Brook Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region, and you can run the rapids of Fish River. This lake is so wonderful. All through the months of summer here at Clayton Lake, high temperatures mostly get into the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 10's while Clayton Lake overnight low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the-10's. Bald Mountain Brook is a pleasant local stream. at Clayton Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Homestead Lodge is a good location for that. A nice place for whitewater paddling in close proximity to Clayton Lake is Machias River, and hiking along the Round Trail is great fun.
