Do explore Ugh Lake next to Clayton Lake, it's a beautiful lake, and get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of Chemquasabamticook Stream. At Clayton Lake all through the long summer days highs are in the 70's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's while Clayton Lake night low temperatures through the winter are in       the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. Lodge at Moosehead Lake is a great place to get some rest, and you'll stumble on a beautiful lake called Cunliffe Lake. Getting to Squirrel Brook from Clayton Lake is easy, and a fine place for whitewater paddling is Allagash River. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Clayton Lake; Chase Carry is a great local trail.
