A tremendous place for whitewater paddling next to Clarkson Pond is Chemquasabamticook Stream; there is a great hiking trail close by called the Chase Carry. This lake is so wonderful. Why not visit nearby South Branch Russell Brook while you're here at Clarkson Pond, and nearby you hit upon the Telephone Trail which       is a good hiking trail. Do explore Middle Russell Pond right next door to Clarkson Pond, it's a delightful lake, and after a long day outdoors Lodge at Moosehead Lake is a great location to spend a night or two. For the period of the days of summer, highs commonly are in the 70's at Clarkson Pond, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Clarkson                  Pond temperatures sink to the-10's. Clarkson Pond gets a common amount of annual precipitation; through July this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is February.
