Go for a hike on the Mooseleuk Tote Road, and if you want to hit the beach, Gilman Beach is close at hand. This lake is so wonderful. You get a delightful sight of Chandler Mountain from Chandler Lake. Camping is available at Umcolcus Sporting Camps, and there are other places here than Chandler Lake, for example Burnt Pond. High temperatures at Chandler Lake through the days of       summer are in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Chandler Lake temperatures fall to the-10's. Millinocket Stream has a splendid whitewater paddling spot close by, and Katahdin Inn is a delightful place to get some rest. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Lakes? Sure, Chandler Deadwater is in the neighborhood, and nearby you locate                  the Millinocket Lake Tote Road which is a nice hiking trail. An attention-grabbing thing to go to in the vicinity of Chandler Lake is Rock Dam, and paddling on Machias River is so much fun. The annual rainfall here at Chandler Lake is about average; July is the wettest month with most rain, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Homestead Lodge is a fine site to camp, and going for a hike on the Round Trail is always a great adventure.   Katahdin Inn, Millinocket 38 miles away The Econo Lodge is located at the northern end of the Appalachian Trail.
