Drift down the rapids of Machias River in a kayak; nothing beats kicking back at Gilman Beach. Chandler Lake gets a normal amount of rainfall; July is the wettest month with most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. After a long day outdoors Katahdin Inn is a good spot to spend a night or two. And if you're still looking for more outdoors enjoyable stuff just       keep reading. If you came to camp Shin Pond Village Campground is a splendid spot to do that, and you can go for a hike on the Millinocket Lake Tote Road. This lake is so wonderful. Get wet paddling on Millinocket Stream, and there's brilliant hiking along the Mooseleuk Tote Road. There's so much to do here at Chandler Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Matagamon Wilderness Campground is a glorious place for that, and delightful hiking is available along                  the Round Trail. At Chandler Lake through the warm days of summer highs are in the 70's while overnight lows are ordinarily in the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 20's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Chandler Lake.
