Mill Brook is a splendid local stream, and the slopes of Bigrock are so inviting nobody can resist. This lake is so wonderful. There are some tremendous whitewater spots on Meduxnekeag River - South Branch, naturally you could also have a look at Sawyer Pond since you're here; it's not far at all. If you came to camp My Brothers Place is a pleasant site to       do that. Champion Pond is a good place of typical precipitation; the month with most of the rain is July, and the driest month of the year is February. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend B Stream; dry warm beds await you at Shiretown Motor Inn. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Champion Pond, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 20's,                  and overnight lows throughout the wintertime for Champion Pond tend to be in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Scottish Inns Houlton is a magnificent spot to get some rest; the Pierce Tote Road is a magnificent hiking trail close by. An afternoon playing golf at Houlton Community Golf Course is always a bliss, and nearby you find the Potters Trail which is a fine hiking trail. But wait, there's more to do near Champion Pond.
