This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Chalk Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Woodland Acres Campground is a pleasant location for that, and if you come at the right time of year, Ossipee River offers some pleasant whitewater. And that's not all you can do here at Chalk Pond. Thurston Brook is one of the streams nearby that might be       worth a visit, and Bald Ledge is a peak you can make out from Chalk Pond. Bickford Pond is a nearby lake that you could visit; do take a hike on the Province Brook Trail. During the summer highs here at Chalk Pond get into the 80's. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 50's. Highs during the winter are typically in the 20's; after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Chalk Pond drop into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. If you get                  bored of Chalk Pond, you could also have a look at close by Hubbard Pond, and you can have a nice hiking adventure along the Shingle Pond Trail. Chalk Pond is right by the Weeks Brook Trail, and Cranmore Mountain is a very popular ski area in the vicinity. After a long day outdoors Merrill Farm Resort is a magnificent spot to spend a night or two, and you can hit the slopes at King Pine in close proximity.
