What a nice lake Chain Lakes is. This lake is so wonderful. From Chain Lakes you obtain a fine panorama of Sisk Mountain, and a short journey to Sarampus Falls is always worthwhile. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Dead River - North Branch. Summer at Chain Lakes comes with high temperatures in the 70's while nighttime lows are ordinarily in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 20's;

| | after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Chain Lakes fall into the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. Near Chain Lakes you stumble on the Arnold Pond Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail; not far from Chain Lakes you'll hit upon Bugeye Pond which is a striking lake. Going for a hike on the Arnold Trail is always a great adventure, and a quick spree to Gold Brook is without doubt a great idea. Get your heart beating on the nice whitewater | |

of Cupsuptic River, and there is a splendid hiking trail close by called the Morrell Trail. If you adore the outdoors, you'll have a thing about Chain Lakes. Hit the slopes at Sugarloaf USA close at hand, and camping is available
at Cathedral Pines Camping Area. Why not camp at Black Arrow Lodge while you're here at Chain Lakes, and Saddleback has good slopes and a friendly staff. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can stop by Chain Lakes Dam. Lakes
are tremendous; Lower Pond is a lake that's near Chain Lakes. A common amount of rainfall falls here at Chain Lakes; through the month of July you get the most rain around here; February meanwhile is the driest month.

 | 2 PHOTOS I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises.... |
