This lake is so wonderful. Center Pond is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, South Branch Pond Campground is a glorious local campground, and there's nice hiking along the Northwest Basin Trail. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Big Squaw while you're here, and paddling on Nesowadnehunk Stream is so much fun. So much exciting       stuff in close proximity to Center Pond, just incredible. You could also stop at Little Wassataquoik Lake while you're here at Center Pond; it's nearby, and Nesowadnehunk Stream River has a good whitewater paddling spot close by. Center Pond is not the only location nearby, Dwelley Pond is a nearby lake. High temperatures at Center Pond through the long summer days are in the 70's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's.                  The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and overnight lows in the-10's for Center Pond. Camping at Chimney Pond Campground is always a great experience, and magnificent hiking is available along the Old Pogy Road.
