Do stop by Cedar Pond while you're in this part of Maine. Good hiking is available along the Sally Mountain Trail, and glide down the rapids of Moose River - South Branch in a kayak. This site is excellent, just look at all the amusing things to do in close proximity to Cedar Pond. There's pleasant hiking along the Bald Mountain Trail, and Comfort Motel is a nice place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. The Alder Brook Trail offers hiking at its best;

| | why not camp at Jackman Landing Campground while you're here at Cedar Pond. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit nearby Holeb Pond, and dry warm beds await you at Stewart's Cabins. Don't forget to take a brilliant little journey to East Inlet, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Parlin Pond Stream. During the long summer days at Cedar Pond temperatures are regularly in the 70's while nighttime lows are ordinarily in the 50's. | |

Highs through the winter are typically in the 20's with temperatures at Cedar Pond dipping down into the-10's during winter nights. If you came for an overnight stay Moose River Campground is a splendid place to camp; at Cedar
Pond you can distinguish Burnt Jacket Mountain. The amount of rainfall that falls at Cedar Pond is close to the national average; July is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful.
