In Maine there are many beautiful lakes, Carvers Pond is one of them. Carvers Pond gets a good deal of water; November is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is July. Any time is a nice time at Carvers Pond if you fancy the outdoors. This is a popular spot for folks from Rockland, obviously you could also take a look at Lawson Quarry Pond while you're here; it's not far at all. This lake is so wonderful. and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at close by Camden. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Carvers Pond. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime
are in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Carvers Pond. You are next to Carvers Cove if you're here at Carvers Pond; beaches are nice and Clayfers Beach is no exception. Near Carvers Pond you locate great
locations like Arey Ledges, and if the weather is magnificent, you can go for a hike along the Western Head Trail. After a long day outdoors Camden Harbour Inn is a good site to spend a night or two; you can have a good hiking adventure
along the Trail Point Trail. Duck Harbor Campground is a pleasant local campground; whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Goose Falls. This lake is so wonderful. Carvers Pond is a great
location to visit for more than one day, Greenlaws RV and Tenting Park is a great location to camp nearby, and a day at Indian Camp Beach is time well spent.

Lobster Buoy Campsite
 | 19 miles away My family and I camped at Lobster Buoy when I was 13. So many years ago....and so many memories.We were visiting my son, Matt, last May and got lost. I noticed a sign by the road and rememberred the turn. It was as beautiful and for a short while I was young again....I have been going to Lobster Buoy in South Thomaston, ME almost every summer for the past 20 years. It's my family's favorite campsite. Small, family friendly but not with the luxuries you find at other campgrounds - which is the whole point of camping! There's beaches to explore, boats to rent, the Lobster Festival in Rockland, several lighthouses nearby like Owlhead just up the road and Marshall Point in Port Clyde - which, by the way, is the lighthouse that Forrest Gump runs up on his cross-country run! So many fun things to do, and lots of peace and quiet with a huge beach make for a great campsite for those who want to get away and spend time outdoors. ... |
