This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Bear Mountain Lodge is a great spot to camp, and nice skiing awaits you at Bigrock. Cochrane Lake is a nearby lake that you could take a look at; you acquire a great sight of Timoney Mountain from here. Whitewater paddling is glorious on Mattawamkeag River - West       Branch, and there's perfect hiking along the Potters Trail. The amount of rainfall that falls at Carson Pond is close to the national average; July is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month is February. In case you don’t mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Mattawamkeag River - East Branch, and splendid hiking is available along the Pierce Tote Road. For the period of the summer months at Carson Pond highs are commonly                  in the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Carson Pond temperatures fall to the 0's. This is no site for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. Why not camp at Wilde Pines Campground while you're here at Carson Pond, and don't leave Carson Pond without first going for a hike along the Kennedy Tote Road. This lake is so wonderful.
