Whitewater paddling is fine on Mattawamkeag River - East Branch, and close by you come across the Pierce Tote Road which is a nice hiking trail. Camping at Wilde Pines Campground is always a pleasant experience, and Shiretown Motor Inn is a great spot to get some rest. The Kennedy Tote Road is a great hiking trail in close proximity to Carson Pond, and why not take a little       tour to Baxter Brook while you're here. The slopes of Bigrock are so inviting noone can resist, and paddling on Mattawamkeag River - West Branch is so much fun. Yep, outdoors entertaining things to do are in fact abundant here at Carson Pond. Going for a hike on the Potters Trail is always a nice adventure; if you need a site to stay Scottish Inns Houlton is a glorious choice. This lake is so wonderful. The summit of Timoney Mountain can be spotted from                  Carson Pond, and there are other places here than Carson Pond, for example Spaulding Lake. The annual rainfall here at Carson Pond is about average; July is the wettest month with most rain, and February is when it's the driest. During the warmest time of the year here at Carson Pond, high temperatures frequently reach the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Highs all through the winter are commonly in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Carson Pond.
