The amount of precipitation that falls at Carry Pond is close to the national average; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. Summer at Carry Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 70's; the night is a little cooler of course, commonly in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and night lows at Carry       Pond through the wintertime generally plunge into the-10's. Whitewater paddling is glorious on Shin Brook River. There's so much to do here at Carry Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Homestead Lodge is a glorious location for that. This lake is so wonderful. A great nearby hotel is Katahdin Inn. But wait, there's more to do near Carry Pond. Near Carry Pond you find the Millinocket Lake Tote Road which is a brilliant hiking trail, and do stop by                  North Branch Wadleigh Brook since you're here at Carry Pond. Take a look at nearby Upper Deadwater, and going for a hike on the Matagamon Tote Road is always a great adventure. Stay the night at Umcolcus Sporting Camps; you'll stumble on a beautiful lake called Lower LaPomkeag Lake. Gilman Beach is a beach near Carry Pond that you can pop by; do visit LaPomkeag Lake, it's a beautiful lake. This lake is so wonderful.
