The yearly rainfall here at Carr Pond is about average; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; February is the month with the least moisture. Going for a hike along the Island Pond Trail will let you absorb the                  natural beauty of this region, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Machias River.
