Nothing beats kicking back at Short Sands, and paddling on Great Works River is so much fun. Swamps like Rush Swamp are fun to go to, and Waddell Pond is a nearby lake that you could go to. You'll meet a lot of people from Portland-South Portland here. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Lake Carolyn has to offer, you can camp at Dixon's Campgrounds. This lake is so wonderful.       The Basin is a fine place to check out, and you can stay the night at Cape Neddick Campground. This is no site for people who don’t like to have a good time. Some of the water nearby flows, like Cape Neddick River, and if you need a site to stay Village Green Ocean Front is a good choice. That right there is heaps already, but it goes on; Lake Carolyn has it all. The peak of Birch Knoll can be seen from Lake Carolyn, and a splendid nearby hotel is Meadowmere                  Resort. Bald Head Cliff is something you shouldn't miss if you're here at Lake Carolyn; since you're here you must pop by Barn Point. This lake is so wonderful. Get wet paddling on Atlantic Ocean, and a lake nearby is Phillips Pond. Enjoy a lazy day on the beach at Cape Neddick Beach, and while you're here why not have a look at Pond Rocks. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Lake Carolyn. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Lake Carolyn are in the 10's.
