You'll need more than a day to discover everything Lake Carolyn has to offer, you can camp at Dixons Campground, and a day at Cape Neddick Beach is time well spent. This lake is so wonderful. Swamps are exciting spots and Rush Swamp in the vicinity of Lake Carolyn is no exception, and Admirals Inn is a brilliant location to get some rest. Lake Carolyn is a wet spot that gets a good deal of precipitation; the wettest month of       the year is commonly November, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is January. Throughout the months of summer at Lake Carolyn highs are frequently in the 80's with night lows in the 50's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and overnight lows all through the winter for Lake Carolyn tend to be in the 10's. So much fun stuff to do at Lake Carolyn, so little time. You have to without doubt go to Bald Head Cliff                  since you're here at Lake Carolyn, and one of the best things about this place is its proximity to Short Sands. A good close by hotel is Meadowmere Resort; Great Works River has a good whitewater paddling spot close by. This lake is so wonderful. Birch Knoll is a peak you can catch a glimpse of from Lake Carolyn, and a trip to nearby Barn Point is very relaxing. Don’t forget to have a look at The Basin since you're here at Lake Carolyn, and nearby Pond Rocks is a great location to go. This location is unbeatable, just look at all the amusing things to do next to Lake Carolyn. You're sure to come across some nice folks from Portland-South Portland here. Whitewater paddling is fine on Atlantic Ocean; getting to Cape Neddick River from Lake Carolyn is simple.
