     Deer Farms Camps and Campground is a tremendous local campground; don't leave Caribou Pond without first going for a hike along the Piazza Rock Trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot. Herbert Grand Hotel is a glorious place to get some rest, and do set aside some time for Crocker Cirque while you're here at Caribou Pond. Man, is there a heap of exciting things to do near Caribou Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Crocker Mountain  
   Cirque Campground while you're here at Caribou Pond, and on a pretty day you obtain a delightful sight of Lone Mountain from Caribou Pond.
Summertime at Caribou Pond comes with high temperatures in the 70's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Caribou Pond. Dry warm beds await you at Wilson Lake Inn, and going for a hike on the Bigelow
 
               Range Trail is always a wonderful adventure. Sandy River has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby, and you can go for a hike on the Fire Warden Trail.
A lake nearby is Redington Pond, and in case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Orbeton Stream. This lake is so wonderful. A day on the slopes of Saddleback is just what you need, and Caribou Valley is a pleasant spot to spend some time. Head up to Sugarloaf USA and strap some skis to your feet, of course you could also go to Jones Pond since you're here; it's not far at all.
From a rain point of view Caribou Pond is a reasonably typical spot; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily November, that's the one that snows the most; February on the other hand is the driest.

A Dopplemayr quad chairlift replaces the Kennebago T-bar which was difficult to ride because of the steep terrain. The new chair will now provide easy access to the spectacular high-elevation advanced terrain with incredible views of the lakes and Western Maine Mountains.

LARGEST ADVANCED SKIING COMPLEX IN THE EAST
The new chair provides easy access to what was already the largest self-contained advanced skiing complex in the East. The black diamond terrain is in a bowl that is separate from the rest of the ski area. Three advanced trails were added in the bowl this summer.
