There are some fine whitewater spots on Orbeton Stream, and do go to Redington Pond, it's a gorgeous lake. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Caribou Pond. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's. Through the wintertime the highs are generally in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Caribou Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you       then we recommend Sandy River; Crocker Cirque is a wonderful place any time of year. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Saddleback is in the vicinity of Caribou Pond, and from Caribou Pond you get a great panorama of Lone Mountain. Dry warm beds await you at Wilson Lake Inn. This lake is so wonderful. A day on the slopes of Sugarloaf USA is just what you need. There's so much to do here at Caribou Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Deer Farms Camps                  and Campground is a magnificent place for that. Don't leave Caribou Pond without first going for a hike along the Piazza Rock Trail; you can stay the night at Crocker Mountain Cirque Campground. So many cool things in the neighborhood of Caribou Pond, absolutely striking. Going for a hike on the Bigelow Range Trail is always a brilliant adventure; while you're here, you could also stop at lovely Jones Pond. The yearly rain here at Caribou Pond is about average; the month with most of the snow is November while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
