     Good hiking is available along the Arnold Pond Trail, and do stop at Otter Pond, it's a stunning lake. The Arnold Trail offers hiking at its best, and a stunning lake like Lost Pond is a delightful place to stop by. Camping at Black Arrow Lodge is always a pleasant experience; Saddleback has magnificent slopes and a friendly staff. This lake is so wonderful. Swamps are exciting places and Lower Hathan Bog close to Caribou Bog is no exception; Caribou Bog is great  
   enough to spend more than a day at, Cathedral Pines Camping Area is a great local campground.
Any time is a fine time at Caribou Bog if you love the outdoors. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Caribou Bog; Morrell Trail is a good local trail, and get your heart beating on the tremendous whitewater of Dead River - North Branch. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Caribou Bog, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Highs during the
 
               winter are ordinarily in the 20's; nighttime lows in the-10's for Caribou Bog. Visit Halfmile Brook since you're here at Caribou Bog, and you can run the rapids of Moose River - South Branch.
Caribou Bog gets a great deal of water; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful.

I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises....
