If you are in this part of Maine make sure to pay a visit to Butler Pond. Wilson Lake Inn is a magnificent site to get some rest, and camping at Black Arrow Lodge is always a magnificent experience. Camera Hill is lovely and can be seen from Butler Pond, and glide down the rapids of Parlin Pond Stream in a kayak. Having a good time at Butler Pond is easy. There are nice locations to discover along the Fire Warden Trail, and a brilliant site to camp here at Butler

| | Pond is King & Bartlett Lake Camp. If you come at the right time of year, Cupsuptic River offers some splendid whitewater; skiing at Saddleback is one of those things you just have to do. This lake is so wonderful. Do visit Everett Pond in the vicinity of Butler Pond, it's a picturesque lake. Range Trail is always a brilliant adventure. Butler Pond is a good site of normal rain; most of the rain falls through July while February is generally the driest month. Go for a hike on the Morrell Trail; a beautiful lake like Rush Pond is a brilliant place to visit.

 | 11 miles away 2 PHOTOS I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises.... |
