     Near Butler Pond you come across the Fire Warden Trail which is a fine hiking trail; there are some great whitewater spots on Parlin Pond Stream. This lake is so wonderful. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Saddleback while you're here. High temperatures at Butler Pond through the summertime months are in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's, and nighttime lows  
   in the-10's for Butler Pond. Now, you may feel that's a lot but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Butler Pond. You're possibly keen on lakes, Rush Pond is one of those close by, and the Bigelow Range Trail is a great hiking trail nearby.
Going for a hike on the Morrell Trail is always a good adventure. Lakes are wonderful; Everett Pond is a lake that's near Butler Pond. From a rain point of view Butler Pond is a relatively typical site; most of the
 
               rain falls through July, and February meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Cupsuptic River; why not camp at King & Bartlett Lake Camp while you're here at Butler Pond.
What would winter be without some skiing at Sugarloaf USA, and you can observe Camera Hill from Butler Pond. Camping is available at Black Arrow Lodge, and if you need a site to stay Herbert Grand Hotel is a good choice.

I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises....
