    If you are in Hancock county it's always a good idea to stop by Burntland Pond. And if that's not enough, there's a load more to do right next door to Burntland Pond. You can run the rapids of Goose Falls close to Burntland Pond. Inner Harbor is beautiful and it's right next door to Burntland Pond; do take a hike on the Black Dina Trail. Burntland Pond gets a typical amount of annual rainfall; the month with most of the rain is November, and February is when  
   it's the driest.
Hiking along the Jerusalem Mountain Trail is splendid fun, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Fort Knox Inn. This lake is so wonderful. If you're a golfer then a good nearby course is Island Country Club, and you obtain a splendid vista of Burnt Hill from here. If only every place had this much outdoors fun things, what a great earth it would be. Looking for something right next door to Burntland Pond? Holt Pond is around here, and
 
               a good swamp near Burntland Pond is Labrador Swamp.
Camping is available at Greenlaws RV and Tenting Park, and if you feel like a little side trip, try Dow Ledge. Nearby lakes? Sure, Ames Pond is right next door to Burntland Pond; if you came for an overnight stay Old Quarry Ocean Adventures is a great location to camp. Eggemoggin Oceanfront Lodge is a wonderful location to get some rest, and get your pulse rate up on the good whitewater of Blue Hill Falls.
Through the summertime at Burntland Pond highs are ordinarily in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and night lows at Burntland Pond through the wintertime typically plunge into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Sawyer Notch Trail, and taking a little journey to nearby Allen Cove is a nice idea.
