St. Croix River has a good whitewater paddling spot close by. Lakes? Sure, Simsquish Lake is close at hand. A good close by hotel is Scottish Inns Houlton. All through the summertime months highs here at Bull Pond get into the 70's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and nighttime lows in the 0's for Bull Pond. Long Lake Campground is a glorious campground nearby, and Lambert Lake is a perfect lake

| | nearby. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Maine Wilderness Camps is a delightful place to camp, and hey, Bull Brook is a nice local stream. Bull Pond typically gets a great deal of rainfall; November is the wettest month with most rain while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. | |

 | 19 miles away Clifford Lake is very isolated . You can get their via route 9 or Route 1 in Princeton. I would recommend a recent typo map and asking plenty of guestions from the locals. There is a small camping area. My last trip there (92) I had a truck and it was needed to traverse one road that comes to mind. The fishing was excellent ( pickerel averaged 20 in.) .
