     Take a little visit to Bean Brook if you're here at Buck Pond, and Penobscot River - West Branch has a good whitewater paddling spot nearby. Summertime at Buck Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. During the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 20's with temperatures at Buck Pond dipping down into the-10's during winter nights. An average amount of rain falls at Buck Pond; the month of July  
   is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. You'll discover a delightful lake called Rainbow Lake near Buck Pond; good hiking is available along the Blue Trail.
This lake is so wonderful. Lodge at Moosehead Lake is a good site to get some rest. Chimney Pond Campground is a delightful local campground, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Buck Pond; Abol Trail is a perfect local trail. If you came for
 
               an overnight stay Frost Pond Campground is a great place to camp, and paddling on Nahmakanta Stream is so much fun.
Not far from Buck Pond you acquire some great water scenery at Rainbow Lake Dam; while you're here, you could also stop at wonderful Collins Pond. Yep, outdoors cool things to do are really bountiful here at Buck Pond. Big Squaw is a tremendous local ski area, and there's tremendous hiking along the Old Telos Tote Road.
