After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn WATERVILLE is a good location to spend a night or two; naturally, this is a great vicinity for folks who like lakes, Hackmatack Pond is a lake close by. There's so much to do here at Branch Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Town Line Campsites is a brilliant place for that; you can take a little spree to Branch Pond Dam while you're here at Branch Pond. You absolutely have to adore Branch Pond. You'll need more

| | than a day to explore everything Branch Pond has to offer, you can camp at Pine Ridge Campgrounds, and if you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Sheepscot River. Throughout the long summer days at Branch Pond highs are generally in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows fall down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Branch Pond dip into the 0's. | |

This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Best Western Waterville Inn is a great choice; you're sure to run into some good people from Augusta-Waterville here. Whitewater paddling is good on Sheepscot River - West Branch.
Lakes are good; Branch Pond is a lake that's close to Branch Pond. From a rain point of view Branch Pond is a reasonably normal location; the wettest month of the year is regularly November, that's the one that rains the most while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.

Eaton Mountain
 | 23 miles away 3 PHOTOS Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends. The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park. The ski area is located on Lambert Road, just off Route 2 between Skowhegan and Canaan.... |
