Sure, Little Penobscot Pond is in the vicinity. The amount of rain that falls at Bog Pond is close to the national average; the month with most of the rain is July, and the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. There's glorious hiking along the Auburn Log Hauling Road, and Nahmakanta Stream is a fine whitewater spot nearby. Lodge at Moosehead Lake is a great       spot to get some rest. Any time is a nice time at Bog Pond if you like the outdoors. Jo-mary Lake Campground is a brilliant local campground; in case you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Penobscot River - West Branch. For the duration of the days of summer at Bog Pond highs are generally in the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's, and nighttime                  lows at Bog Pond during the wintertime generally fall into the-10's. The Blue Trail offers hiking at its best, and Big Squaw is a very popular ski area close by.
