Through the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 50's. Highs all through the wintertime are generally in the 20's, and nighttime lows during the wintertime for Bog Pond tend to be in the 0's. If you came to camp Fiddlehead Campground is a nice place to do that, as expected you could also pop by Lovewell Pond while you're here; it's not far at all. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Ossipee River; if you need a location to stay Oxford House Inn is a nice choice. Going for a hike along the Weeks Brook Trail will let you absorb | |

the natural beauty of this area; Bog Pond is not the only spot nearby, Cat Pond is a nearby lake. But wait, there's more to do in close proximity to Bog Pond. If the weather is nice here at Bog Pond, you can go for a hike along the
Kearsarge Trail. There's so much to do here at Bog Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Zen Farm RV Resort is a great place for that. All the water falling down from the sky makes Bog Pond a wet place; the month of November
is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is September. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is pretty, you obtain a tremendous sight of Mount Tom from Bog Pond; if you're here, you could stop at Fight Brook.

West Pond
 | 15 miles away West Pond is a truly special place, in the foothils of Mr. Washington. As you approach the pond from the South on Rt. 160, you are met by a breathtaking view of Mt. Washington which is 40 miles away. The water in west pond is crystal clear, and you can often hear the loons. There is a large area around the pond that is protected in tree growth, so the pond will never face additional stress of building. There is also no public access for boats, and that keeps it quiet and free of the kind of noise and congestion you see in popular lakes elsewhere.... |

Black Mountain
 | 16 miles away 3 PHOTOS ...he parking is slope-side and convenient, and we don't ever have pushy crowds! We are proud to be operating in our 74th Season as the oldest ski resort in New Hampshire. Nestled among pastures and farmlands in the quaint village of Jackson, New Hampshire, Black Mountain is the quintessential New England ski destination. Beginners can relax and improve their skills on Sugarbush and Black Beauty. Experts, test your skills on the super steep Mr. Rew or the winding narrows of Upper Galloping Goose. Check out the Lostbo Glades or Carter Notch for some of the finest tree skiing in the East. Whatever your ability, Black Mountain has something to offer. 'Black is almost certainly one of the best areas you've probably never skied. Even though it's been operating for 72 years, it's still a well-kept secret. Many of the trails are narrow. They twist and turn through the woods the way ski trails should. It's a very different experience than skiing down the crowded, wide-open, straight-down the falline trails so prevalent of newer, more glamorous resorts.' -- Tim Jones of Eastern... |
