On a gorgeous day you obtain a sight of Meadow Hill from Bog Pond; Maple Hill Farm B & B Inn is a glorious spot to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Augusta West Lakeside Resort; at Cobbosseecontee Lake Dam right next door to Bog Pond there are some attention-grabbing things to see. It's a good idea to explore Mears Brook, it's near Bog Pond, and after a long day outdoors Econo Lodge Inn & Suites is a wonderful location to spend

| | a night or two. This place, Bog Pond, it just has so much outdoors entertaining stuff. If you get bored of Bog Pond, you could also check out nearby Little Jimmie Pond, and Bog Pond is a good spot to visit for more than one day, Foggy Bottom Marine is a good spot to camp nearby. Take a hike on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, and golf can be played at Kennebec Heights Country Club. This lake is so wonderful. You'll meet a lot of folks from Augusta-Waterville | |

here; if you come at the right time of year, Cobbosseecontee Stream offers some tremendous whitewater. Jimmie Pond is a nearby lake that you could go to, and Packards Ledge is in the neighborhood, and is a splendid place. The
high level of rain makes Bog Pond a relatively wet site; most of the rain falls through November; February meanwhile is the driest month. At Bog Pond through the summertime highs are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it plunges down
to the 50's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's; through the dark hours in the wintertime at Bog Pond temperatures descend to the 0's.

There needs to be a bunch of water in this stream to even make it doable. on 4/20 we were scooting-ass over many shallow spots in our yaks. Fun drops with laziness inbetween make for a good time especially for the novice.... |
Eaton Mountain
 | 24 miles away 3 PHOTOS Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends. The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park. The ski area is located on Lambert Road, just off Route 2 between Skowhegan and Canaan.... |
