If you need a place to stay Bingham Motor Inn is a splendid choice; if you come at the right time of year, Roach River offers some nice whitewater. Having a tremendous time at Blood Pond is painless. Stay the night at Caseys Spencer Bay Campground, and if you get bored of Blood Pond you could also go to nearby Grass Pond. Summertime brings       highs in the 70's to Blood Pond with nighttime lows in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's; nighttime lows at Blood Pond through the wintertime typically sink into the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Pleasant River - West Branch, and the snow is great at Big Squaw. You get a good vista of Big Spencer Mountain from Blood Pond, and while you're here you can take                  a hike along the Gulf Hagas Trail. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Lodge at Moosehead Lake is a brilliant location to spend a night or two. Going for a hike along the Number Four Mountain Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. There's so much to do here at Blood Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Casey's Spencer Bay Campground is a splendid place for that.
