Take a little journey to Blanchard Brook since you're here at Blanchard Ponds, and a wonderful lake like Cow Pond is a good location to take a look at. From a precipitation point of view Blanchard Ponds is a reasonably normal location; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Morrell Trail is glorious fun; why not head up to Black Mountain and strap some skis to your

| | feet. North Camps is a delightful campground nearby, and at Blanchard Ponds you can spot Black Spur. This lake is so wonderful. Blanchard Ponds is right by the Bemis Trail, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Dead River - South Branch. site to camp. All the outdoors amusing stuff close to Blanchard Ponds will keep you coming back many times. Blanchard Cove is reasonably near Blanchard Ponds, and the Milrose Trail offers hiking at its best. Whitewater paddling
is pleasant on Kennebago River; Saddleback is a very popular ski area close at hand. Through the summer at Blanchard Ponds highs are generally in the 70's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. Through the wintertime
this place gets highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Blanchard Ponds sink into the-10's.

Bugeye Pond
 | 12 miles away 2 PHOTOS I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises.... |
