From a precipitation point of view Blanchard Ponds is a reasonably normal location; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Morrell Trail is glorious fun; why not head up to Black Mountain and strap some skis to your       feet. North Camps is a delightful campground nearby, and at Blanchard Ponds you can spot Black Spur. This lake is so wonderful. Blanchard Ponds is right by the Bemis Trail, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Dead River - South Branch. Ben Gile Pond is a glorious lake right next door to Blanchard Ponds, and if you came for an overnight stay Black Brook Cove Campground is a pleasant                  site to camp. All the outdoors amusing stuff close to Blanchard Ponds will keep you coming back many times. Blanchard Cove is reasonably near Blanchard Ponds, and the Milrose Trail offers hiking at its best. Whitewater paddling is pleasant on Kennebago River; Saddleback is a very popular ski area close at hand. Through the summer at Blanchard Ponds highs are generally in the 70's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's.
