Black Pond is a nice lake to visit. Some nearby water includes Black Brook, and going for a hike on the Telephone Trail is always a great adventure. There are delightful places to discover along the Big Spencer Mountain Trail; whitewater paddling is splendid on Ellis Brook. This lake is so wonderful. If you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Caucomgomoc Stream; close by you discover the Carry Trail which is a nice hiking trail. High

Daytime highs during the winter are in the 20's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Black Pond fall into the-10's. The amount of precipitation that falls at Black Pond is close to the national average; throughout July this area sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. Everybody close by loves skiing at Big Squaw.
