On a glorious day at Black Pond you can take a hike along the Gulf Hagas Trail; Frost Pond Campground is a brilliant campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Black Pond gets a typical amount of annual rain; the month with most of the rain is July while February is frequently the driest month.       If you come at the right time of year, Pleasant River - West Branch offers some good whitewater; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by nearby Little Fisher Pond. While you're here at Black Pond you can take a hike along the Number Four Mountain Trail, and a pleasant close by hotel is Lodge at Moosehead Lake. Throughout the summertime months highs here at Black Pond get into the 70's. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 50's. Daytime                  highs through the winter are in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Black Pond are in the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is perfect here at Black Pond, you can go for a hike along the Big Spencer Mountain Trail, and the slopes of Big Squaw are so inviting nobody can resist. Just can't get enough of Black Pond. Farrar Mountain can be seen from Black Pond. Lakes?
