    Black Pond is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. Paddling on Goose Falls is so much fun, and there are magnificent places to explore along the Blue Hill Trail. Black Brook is a stream that you may come across while here, and tremendous hiking is available along the Sawyer Notch Trail. Black Pond gets a normal amount of yearly rainfall; November is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month is February.
A nice nearby hotel
 
   is Eggemoggin Oceanfront Lodge; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at nearby Parker Pond. Summertime at Black Pond comes with high temperatures in the 70's while overnight lows are commonly in the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Black Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Walker Pond Dam is beautiful and it's in the neighborhood of Black Pond; Robin Hood  
               Camp is a tremendous campground nearby.
If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Black Pond. Stay the night at Sunshine Campground; Blue Hill Falls has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Old Cove Trail; don't forget to take a look at Snow Cove since you're here. Best Western Fort Knox Inn is a great spot to get some rest.
If you're looking for a beach next to Black Pond, we recommend Birchhead Shore, and the summit of Caterpillar Mountain can be spotted from Black Pond.
