Black Pond is a good place of common rainfall; November is when you get the most rain here; February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Birchhead Shore is a beach close to Black Pond that you can stop by, and a wonderful spot for whitewater paddling is Blue Hill Falls. If the weather is good here at Black Pond, you can go for a hike along the Old Cove Trail, and a fine place to camp here at Black Pond is Sunshine Campground. On a good day at Black Pond you can take a hike along the Sawyer Notch Trail; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore close by John Gray Pond.
