     A brilliant nearby hotel is Oxford House Inn, and most likely you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Spectacle Ponds is just a very short distance away. Black Lake is a reasonably wet place generally with a great deal of rain; November is when you get the most rain here while September is ordinarily the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. A perfect site for whitewater paddling next to Black Lake is Ossipee River. There's so much to do here at Black Lake that  
   you need to camp here for a while, River Run Canoe Rental and Camping is a magnificent location for that. High temperatures at Black Lake during the summer months are in the 80's, and the nighttime is somewhat chillier of course, generally in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's with temperatures at Black Lake dipping down into the 0's all through winter nights.
Really wonderful skiing awaits you at Shawnee Peak, and hiking
 
               along the Province Brook Trail is great fun. Black Lake beyond doubt is in the middle of a wonderful outdoors paradise. Stay the night at Windsong Campgrounds; needless to say, this is a nice neighborhood for folks who like lakes, Chapman Pond is a lake around here.
The top of Fork Hill is easily seen from Black Lake, and not far from Black Lake you acquire some glorious water scenery at Black Lake Dam. Have a great hiking adventure along the Kearsarge Trail, and Merrill Farm Resort is a brilliant place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Weeks Brook Trail; skiing at King Pine is one of those things you just have to do.
