     If you came for an overnight stay Pelletier's Campground is a magnificent spot to camp, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Island Pond Trail. Little Black Check Point is a splendid campground nearby, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Black Lake; Fox Brook Trail is a magnificent local trail. This lake is so wonderful. You could also stop at Second Pelletier Brook Lake since you're here at Black Lake; it's close by, and whitewater paddling is  
   not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend St. Francis River. Through the long summer days highs here at Black Lake get into the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 10's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Black Lake.
A lake nearby is First Pelletier Brook Lake, and get your heart pumping on the wonderful whitewater of Falls Brook. The yearly rainfall here at Black Lake
 
               is about average; through August this area sees the most rain; February is the month with the least moisture. What a place this is for outdoors folks.
