Bird Pond is always a pleasure to visit. Paddling on Little Androscoggin River is so much fun, and why not have a look at Pennesseewassee Lake Dam while you're here. Bird Pond gets a normal amount of yearly rain; August is when you get the most rain here, and February on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Bird Pond is not the only spot nearby, Pennesseewassee Lake is a nearby lake; you can stay the night at Vacationland Campground.

| | Hit the slopes at Mount Abram close by, and some of the water close by flows, like Bogg Brook. You assume that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Bird Pond is a perfect site to visit for more than one day, Two Lakes Camping is a perfect site to camp nearby; dry warm beds await you at The Perennial Inn. You simply should love Bird Pond. a spot to stay Pleasant Mountain Inn is a great choice, and Bird Pond is right by the Albany Mountain Trail. This lake is so wonderful. From Bird Pond you obtain a brilliant sight of Cobble Hill, and the best way to spend a winter
day is on the slopes of close by Shawnee Peak. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Albany Brook Trail, and Witt Swamp is an out of the ordinary swamp next to Bird Pond. Throughout the months of summer at Bird Pond highs are
typically in the 70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's while Bird Pond overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the-10's.

 | 11 miles away My sister and I put in just below eddes falls this summer and kayaked all the way to sebago lake. Nice trip....My friend Dan and I ran part of this section last summer. Instead of putting in at Scribner's Mill, we launched from Edes Falls, just above the Rapids. It was a good inroduction to whitewater. Dan flipped within the first five minutes, but being that the water is relatively shallow, he did little more than get wet on a hot summers day. The Route 302 bridge is a logical pull out spot. There is a large mass of debris blocking passage of the river there. The only tricky part is that the walls of the riverband are steep and slippery, so it helps to have someone with you for the portage.... |
