Going for a hike along the Number Four Mountain Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood, and camping at Casey's Spencer Bay Campground is always a wonderful experience. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Pleasant River - West Branch; Big Wilder Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Wildwood Shores Campground       is a great local campground. From a rain point of view Big Wilder Pond is a reasonably typical site; the wettest month of the year is usually July, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest of the months is February. If you come at the right time of year, Ship Pond Stream offers some brilliant whitewater, and the summit of Barren Mountain can be distinguished from Big Wilder Pond. Hiking along the Gulf Hagas Trail is good fun, and you can never                  get enough of the fine skiing at Big Squaw. This place, Big Wilder Pond, it clearly has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. If the weather is good here at Big Wilder Pond, you can go for a hike along the Auburn Log Hauling Road, and Pittsfield Motor Inn is a great place to get some rest. Throughout the warm days of summer highs here at Big Wilder Pond reach the 70's, and the nighttime is a little colder of course, frequently in the 50's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 20's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Big Wilder Pond temperatures dip to the-10's. This lake is so wonderful.
